Cause branding is at the center of what we like to do here at our company. We believe it truly represents what public relations is all about. I have added a new list today on this site called Causes to Consider. I will include causes that I'm personally involved in but want to hear from you about the causes you think are important and link to them as well.
The first two links today are two that are near and dear to my heart. We have worked with Lee Jeans for over ten years. Our relationship began when we were challenged by them to develop a program that would help soften up companies into allowing jeans to be worn in the workplace. At the same time, Lee Jeans was making a commitment to support the fight against breast cancer. We married those two concepts and Lee National Denim Day was born. We celebrated ten years of Denim Days last October. Through this partnership with Lee Jeans, we have learned the power of a simple idea and power of cause and what it can do.
The other link I have posted today is for Higher M-Pact. This is an organization based in Kansas City but it is a model that can be replicated in any city. The founder, Tyrone Flowers, is a truly remarkable man. He sits in a wheelchair today because he was shot as a teenager. He was on his way to a collegiate basketball career. That ended the day he was shot. He could have cashed it in and done nothing but that is not who Tyrone is. He went to law school, got married and started this organization with his wife. The link will tell you what they do. Higher M-Pact is going to be our main pro bono client for 2006. I have a feeling we will be involved after that too.
What causes are important to you?
Hey, welcome to the blogosphere. (I found the link on Andy's blog.) Very good stuff here. Keep up the great posts.
